31-2219 - COMPENSATION FOR SERVICES TO STATE
When the sheriff or other
officer is legally required to perform a service in behalf of the people of
this state, which is not chargeable to his county or private person, his
account and claim for compensation therefor must be filed with the board of
examiners, who shall consider the same and report thereon to the legislature,
at its first session after the rendition of such service, for its action. The
board of examiners shall request an appropriation for such claim. If the
legislature appropriates funds for such claim, the amount shall be paid by the
board of examiners to the treasurer of the county of the sheriff or other
officer who performed the services.
