Bill's extensive legal background includes zoning, construction litigation and mediation and arbitration. He has represented insurance-related interests in both the public and private sectors. In addition to having been selected for inclusion in SuperLawyers, he has been designated by Martindale-Hubbell as "prestigious" in their rating system. Certified as an arbitrator and mediator in both state and federal courts, he has been elected to the American College of Civil Trial Mediators.
Hanna, who has been practicing law for more than 30 years, has a solo practice in Myrtle Beach. He was previously a member (partner) in the Myrtle Beach office of Nexsen Pruet as a Member (partner) in the firm and practiced with the litigation group. Prior to that, he was a partner with Harris & Hanna in Surfside Beach, S.C.
He is a lifelong resident of the coastal region of South Carolina and has been actively involved in youth activities. A founding member of the prestigious and nationally recognized Beach Ball Classic Basketball Tournament, he has been a volunteer recreational and AAU baseball coach for over 30 years.
A former prosecutor and city judge in Surfside, SC, he is a member of the South Carolina Bar, and has been admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court of South Carolina, the U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina and his law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law.
