The Chief Judge of the District Court, subject to the approval of
the Chief Judge of the Court of Appeals, shall designate a District
Court judge in each district as the administrative judge for that
district. The administrative judge is responsible for the
administration, operation, and maintenance of the District Court in
that district and for the conduct of the District Court's business.
Subject to the approval of the Chief Judge of the District Court, the
District Court of any district may be divided into civil, criminal,
traffic, or other functional divisions if the work of the District
Court requires.
