(a)      Notwithstanding § 1-206(a) of this article, from July 1, 2002 the Housing Authority of St. Mary's County shall be composed of seven persons.

      (b)      The five persons serving as Commissioners of the Authority on July 1, 2002 shall continue to serve until their respective terms expire and their successors have been appointed and qualified.

      (c)      The Commissioners for St. Mary's County shall designate two additional persons to serve as Commissioners, one of whom shall be appointed for a term of 1 year and the other for a term of 2 years, from their respective dates of appointment. Thereafter their successors shall be appointed for terms of 5 years each except that vacancies shall be filled for the unexpired term.
