50-1016 - DEDUCTIONS FROM WAGES
Any city may deduct, upon written
approval of the individual employee, sums certain from said employee's salary
or wages for the purpose of paying said sums for premiums on group life,
health, accident, disability, hospital and surgical insurance, or any other
purposes approved by the city council. Any city may pay all or any part of
such deductions as approved by the council.
Any city may adopt a city retirement and pension plan for the benefit of
its employees and for that purpose may deduct, upon written approval of the
individual employee, sums certain from said employee's wages as a contribution
to said plan and any city may pay all or any part of such premiums as approved
by the council and may make such other contributions as may be required to
make such plan actuarially sound. Such plan may be administered by the
employer or by a third party organization selected through a competitive
selection process. Further, the employer may cooperate with other city or
county employers for joint administration of the plan.
