The
provisions of this chapter shall be applicable to the forest and range lands
belonging to the state with the same force and effect as they apply to
privately owned forest and range lands within the state; except that for the
protection of state-owned range lands, the state board of land commissioners
may enter into agreements or otherwise provide for a reasonable arrangement
assuring the timely suppression of fires on or threatening state-owned range
lands whether or not said lands are adjacent to or intermingled with forest
lands.
