25-222 - CONSENT OF DIVISION REQUIRED FOR INDIVIDUAL TESTS -- INDEMNITY TO OWNERS FOR DESTROYED ANIMALS
CONSENT OF DIVISION REQUIRED FOR INDIVIDUAL TESTS -- INDEMNITY TO
OWNERS FOR DESTROYED ANIMALS. It shall be unlawful for any person, except the
representatives of the division, or the inspectors of the United States
department of agriculture, to inject any tuberculin into any animal of the
families bovidae, cervidae, antilocapridae, or camelidae or to conduct any
other approved tuberculosis test on such animals in this state without first
having been approved by the division to conduct such tests. All such tests
shall be conducted in accordance with the rules and regulations of the
division. The division shall be authorized and empowered to make and
promulgate rules and regulations for the appraising and slaughtering or
destroying of animals which are deemed to be affected with tuberculosis as
determined through a tuberculin or other approved tuberculosis test, and to
indemnify the owners when it becomes necessary to destroy such animals in
order to control or eradicate tuberculosis and to protect the public health.
The indemnity is to be made in accordance with the provisions of section
25-216, Idaho Code.
