5-326 - UNKNOWN OWNERS OR HEIRS -- EFFECT OF JUDGMENTS AND DECREES

Judgments and decrees rendered in actions or proceedings when persons have
been made parties and served by publication of summons, shall have the same
effect in all respects as if such persons had been made parties by their own
proper names, and had been served by publication and mailing of summons
according to the statutes in such case made and provided. If in such action or
proceeding persons are made parties by the designation of unknown heirs as
aforesaid, the judgment or decree shall be conclusive as to all heirs of such
deceased party. When in any action or proceeding persons are made defendants
by the designation of unknown devisees as aforesaid, the judgment or decree in
such proceeding shall be conclusive as against all devisees of such deceased
person. When in any action or proceeding persons are made defendants by the
designation of unknown owners as aforesaid, the judgment or decree rendered in
such action or proceeding shall be conclusive as against the world, including
all contingent interests in the controversy and persons not in being who may
have an interest or contingent interest therein.
